Lisa is an award winning writer of short films, web series, television, feature films and plays. She is a top ten finalist for the 2015 Funny Women Awards in the 'Comedy Shorts' Category for 'SuperMum'.
Her first play '3some' sold out its run during the 2012 Camden Fringe Festival and was voted pick of the fringe by the readers of Everything Theatre. '3some' was extended and ran for three weeks at the Etcetera Theatre and was published by Playdead Press in April 2013.
'3some' the web series, which Lisa also directed, is set one year following the events of the play, and is being syndicated on YouTube. Blip TV, Reelhouse, Dailymotion, Pikdip TV, TheLoop, Koldcast TV, Roku and many other online and mobile platforms.
Lisa won the 2014 Indie Series Award for 'Best Writing - Drama'. 3some also won 'Best Romantic Series' at the 2014 Miami Webfest. The series has won multiple awards including; Indie Series Awards 2014 'Best Actor - Drama' (Peter Halpin); 'We Love Soaps' Indie Series of the Week, best actor (Peter Halpin), best actress (Lisa Gifford), and best couple (Lisa Gifford & Euan King); Tight Shorts' April 2013 festival and Snobby Robot 2013 Webseries Award for Best Actor (Peter Halpin). It was nominated for Best Ensemble Cast in the 2014 IAWTV awards and 2014 Indie Series Awards, nominated for Best in Festival, Best Actress and Best Drama at the 2014 Miami Webfest, Best Drama at the 2014 ITV Webfest, Best International Series at the 2014 NYC Webfest and nominated for Best Actress, Best Actor (Euan King), Best Story and Best Original Music at Rome Web Awards. It has been official selection at more than ten international festivals. Lisa is currently developing series 2.
In 2012 Lisa wrote and starred in the short film, 'Sweetheart', which premiered at Raindance Film Festival in London. It has since travelled around the world at international film festivals such as Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, West Chester Film Festival, and was the opening film at the 2012 BragaCine Film Festival. Lisa has written a feature film based on the short which is now in development.
Lisa works as a script editor and consultant, offering advice and script services to other writers. She is also one half of the London production company 'Capital City Entertainment', which specialises in feature films, short films, online content and stage.
